The Serengeti is one of Africa’s most iconic safari landscapes: vast open plains, riverine forests, kopjes and exceptional wildlife viewing. Fly directly from Zanzibar to a Serengeti airstrip such as Seronera, Grumeti or Kogatende, selected according to the season and your route.
Over three days, explore the park on guided 4x4 game drives with excellent chances to see lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras and an abundance of other wildlife. Depending on the season, your guide may follow the Great Migration, when huge herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle move across the plains.
The Central Serengeti offers reliable year-round predator sightings, while the Western Corridor, Northern Serengeti and Southern Ndutu plains each offer distinctive migration experiences. Two nights in a lodge or tented camp give you time for early starts, sunset drives and the sounds of the bush after dark.
June to October is ideal for classic dry-season game viewing. From December to March, the southern plains are known for calving season, while the greener months bring birdlife, dramatic skies and fewer visitors.
