This four-day fly-in safari combines the sweeping plains of the Serengeti with the extraordinary wildlife density of the Ngorongoro Crater. Begin with a morning flight from Zanzibar to the Serengeti, where your guide meets you for game viewing and a first afternoon on the plains.
Spend two full days in the Serengeti, known for the Great Migration, big cats, elephant herds and vast savannah landscapes. Sunrise and sunset drives reveal different sides of the park, while seasonal routes can follow wildlife from the central plains to the Western Corridor, northern Mara River or southern Ndutu area.
On day three, drive through the highlands to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The following morning, descend into the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera for a game drive among forests, grasslands, swamps and one of Africa’s highest concentrations of big game.
The dry months from June to October bring excellent visibility and concentrated wildlife. December to March can coincide with Serengeti calving season, while the green months offer birdlife and fewer visitors.
